Student Coordinator, Puunjalostusinsinöörit ry

South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK), Savonlinna Campus

We are looking for an energetic and active student coordinator to join the team of Puunjalostusinsinöörit ry (PI). In this role, you will represent Puunjalostusinsinöörit ry at your university. We offer an excellent vantage point into the forest-based industry, interesting and meaningful work, as well as a great opportunity to get to know our field, network, and develop professionally.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Representing PI at student events at your school. These events can be organized by your university or by a student association.
  • Organizing PI's own events such as PI-Roadshow and Pulp&Breakfast. 
  • Communications and marketing tasks, including communication related to events and social media.
  • Acting as a liaison between PI and XAMK students.

 

We require:

  • Ongoing university studies at the Savonlinna campus of the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. Additionally, you must be a member of SAIO ry.
  • An interest in the forest-based industry and a desire to help others understand how fascinating this field is.
  • Good proficiency in Finnish and English, with other language skills considered an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for influencing and public speaking.

 

Additionally, we hope for:

  • Good IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office software.
  • Communication or marketing experience, either from work experience or school organization activities.

 

This position is temporary (1 or 2 years) and part-time (about 1 day per week, excluding May-August). The work primarily takes place from February to March in the spring semester and Spetember to November in the fall semester. Additionally, we hope for the coordinators' assistance in communication and other tasks related to PI events during other times. Our office is located in Otaniemi, Espoo, but coordinators mainly work locally on their campuses. The tasks and working hours are flexible and can vary significantly based on your level of activity. Student coordinators are paid an hourly wage for the hours worked.
