Speakers

Aaron Vuola (MMM and MSc.) works as a Circular Economy and Environmental Manager at the Finnish Forest Industries Federation (FFIF). He is an environmental advocacy and public affairs professional with over 10 years of professional experience from international and national settings and organizations. Aaron has lived, studied, and worked in several different countries and continents during the past 15 years, and currently advocates the use of renewable and sustainable solutions from the Finnish forest industry.

 

 

Ilkka Harju, Packaging Design Director, is leading the Metsä Board’s packaging design team responsible for the European and Asian markets. Harju is a visionary leader and pioneer in applying design thinking principles to the forest industry especially on the field of packaging. His work has transformed how companies approach product development, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement within the sector. Known for his practical, results-oriented approach, Harju has helped numerous organizations leverage design thinking to create innovative solutions and build more sustainable, resilient businesses within the forest sector.

 

 

Heidi Saxell, CTO at Paptic with the mission to build and promote the team, capabilities and culture needed to scale-up an impactful innovative product company. Heidi cherishes the learnings from real life projects and fellow collaborators during ~20 years of disruptive process and product development in the chemical as well as pulp and paper industries. Heidi has a PhD in Organic Chemistry and an Executive MBA from Aalto University as formal degrees and has contributed to 23 scientific publications and 33 patent applications as co-author.
